ARMS I & ARMS II

Academic Readiness and Mentoring Program (ARM) is a general education course designed specifically for freshmen and transfer student-athletes.

  • The course covers a variety of topics useful for all incoming students, but has special emphasis on JSU's academic expectations.

  • NCAA rules and regulations are central to this required course, so that every student-athlete fully comprehends the standards by which their success will be measured both on the court or field of play as well as in the classroom.

Promoting Academic Success for Student-Athletes (PASS) -- a program designed to aid new student-athletes in making the transition to college.

  • It is a required program for all student-athletes who have a grade point average that is below a 2.5.

  • Student-athletes are also required to meet with their athletic academic advisor during the first week of the semester to schedule weekly appointments for the duration of the semester.
