Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society

About us:

Established in 1996 at DePauw University, Chi Alpha Sigma is a non-profit organization, established to recognize college student athletes who have earned a varsity letter in at least one sports while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years.

For the purposes of rewarding high academic scholarship of college athletes at four-year accredited colleges and universities, encourage good citizenship, moral characters and friendship among the high academic achievers in college athletes, and to provide leadership to other athletes are some of the reasons this organization was chartered.

Jackson State University is only the second member Institution of Higher Learning in the state of Mississippi, and was designated as the Mississippi Beta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma in 2008. Jackson State is one of six HBCU's with a chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.

Our Purpose:

The purpose of Chi Alpha Sigma is to encourage and reward high academic scholarship of college athletes at four-year accredited colleges and universities. To recognize outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate varsity letter winners. To encourage good citizenship, moral character and friendship among the high academic achievers in college athletics. To recognize and honor the individual athlete, his/her team, sport, athletic department, and college or university. To mentor and to provide leadership to other athletes.

How to Become a Member of Chi Alpha Sigma:

Individual must be a Jackson State University Student-Athlete, class standing of Junior or Senior, letter in their retrospective sport, and must have at least a 3.40 GPA
